HISTORY

The Arutperunjothi Margam Welfare Fund (AMWF) was first conceived in early 2001. The fund's main purpose is to help uplift downtrodden communities in Malaysia. The generosity of the network of contacts that AMWF relies on for donations has allowed it to provide vital services for families and individuals. In 2008, AMWF was registered with the Registrars of Societies (ROS) Malaysia, and has since been known as Persatuan Kebajikan Arutperunjothi Margam, Klang, Selangor (PKAM).

PKAM's humble beginnings have seen it provide food aid for impoverished families in the Klang Valley area and later expanding its outreach programmes to Negeri Sembilan. With the establishment of Sadhana Visionary Academy, PKAM has dedicated significant resources for charity through education.

This is the 11th year that AMWF/ PKAM has been in operation. Total contributions received for FY2011 alone has reached RM220,000. As more and more people are becoming aware of the welfare activity of PKAM, its needs for volunteer support and contributions continues to expand to support its effort to eradicate poverty and illiteracy.
